Nonika Hendrickse Vagliviello

Working as La NoNika, Nonika Hendrickse Vagliviello is a mother, artist and activist whose practice emerges directly from the lived experience of motherhood. Using her phone, she creates digital images, text and poetry that challenge the false paradigm of motherhood presented by society — the unreachable pinnacle that damns all mothers who fall short of it, which is all of us. Her MotherFucked series responds to the linguistic erasure of women's bodily experience and the guttural frustration of a March that once again failed to resonate with frontline motherhood.
