Linda Hubbard's practice finds meaning in the found and overlooked, turning urban chance encounters into acts of witness and remembrance. Her Happenstance Urban Still Lifes series attends to the objects that pass unnoticed in the gutter, on the pavement, at the edge of things. Her work for Gritted Teeth responds to the murder of Sarah Everard in March 2021: a blue badge worn in her memory, discovered in a gutter in April 2023, became a sacred keepsake — a foundling she could not leave lying there.
