Your questions answered

Before emailing us with a question, please read through carefully the information below. Applications or questions relating to the exhibition should only be sent to: www.info@badbehaviour.london or they will not be considered. 

There is no set theme to the work so please send in work that is representative of your artistic practice.

Who is eligible?

Artists working in any medium.

Artists at any stage of their career. (This includes non graduates, creatives with artistic flair keen to exhibit their work for the first time, diploma and university students, post-graduates)

Artists of any age. (Artists under the age of 18? will need to seek parental permission to apply).

Artists from  the UK and internationally.

Artist collectives (artists working as a group to produce artwork)

Dates to remember

10th June – 11th September (midnight) – Online applications open.

21st – 22nd September – Selected artists will be notified by email.

9th October – Selected artists to deliver works to the venue.

13th – 19th October – Exhibition dates.

 

What to submit?

Work submitted can be any of the following:

painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, installation, performance, textile, collage, ceramics, film/video, mixed media.

There is no size restriction on the works.

Each applicant can submit up to a maximum of six images in total saved as JPG files,  max 500kb each, min 800 pixels wide, preferably 72dpi.

Please label each image file to correspond to the title of the work, size in cms, and date produced. 

Video/Audio content should not be uploaded, but instead provided as links (Vimeo, YouTube etc) pasted into the video/audio boxes. For each image uploaded or link pasted, you must provide a corresponding number, title, medium, dimensions or running time, and the date it was made.

(Artists selected to show film/video work will be asked to provide their own equipment to exhibit their work for the duration of the exhibition.)

As a minimum requirement, all applicants must upload at least 1 image or provide 1 video/audio link.

Please do not include CVs or any other attachments, these will not be considered.

We try to operate a fair selection process, which is why we specifically request that applicants do not send any supplementary information or attachments.

The entry fee is £15 until 31 July, then going up to £20 for later entries. (sent via PayPal to info@badbehaviour.london)

The fee covers the exhibition administration costs and related expenses and is non-refundable.

Applications received after the deadline will not be considered and fees will not be refunded.

Following selection and notification, the exhibition organisers reserve the right to exclude works which are

a) delivered late

b) bear no resemblance to the content of your application.

c) are of poor quality, or are unfinished.

Work may be available to sell (if the artist so wishes). Bad Behaviour take 20% commission to Bad Behaviour on any work sold during the exhibition.

No submissions after the closing date will be accepted. The selector’s decision is final, and it is not possible to deliver individual feedback.

Please remember to check your spam/junk email folder for correspondence after you submit your application. It can take up to 2 hours for your confirmation email to come through.

How is the work selected?

The selection panel will view the artwork images  as fairly as possible by an anonymous selection process.

All applications will be considered except incomplete applications. Please make sure all images are of good quality and the size and format specified on the application form.

Failure to pay the submission fee will also result in disqualification.

Once you have submitted your form and payment, you will receive a confirmation of receipt email.

Please make sure you have completed all relevant parts of the application form and your images / links are all labelled correctly before submitting the form.
